Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Consortium secures Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME) funding for Multidose Clinical Trial

Multi-Dose Clinical Trial Funding
We are delighted to announce that our grant application to the NIHR EME programme to cover the cost of the Multi-Dose non-viral gene therapy trial in CF patients has been successful.
Professor Eric Alton, chief investigator, said: "Our application for EME funding required an intensive effort by many members of the Consortium. It was rigorously peer-reviewed, and our success in being awarded the grant is a strong endorsement of both our non-viral gene therapy programme and the clinical trial design. With funding for this key part of the Consortium's programme secure, we will begin preparations for the trial immediately. We would like to thank the EME board for its confidence in us, and also all of those whose support has reinforced our determination to continue the programme for the benefit of CF patients."
The EME researcher-led programme is funded by the MRC and managed by the NIHR on behalf of the MRC-NIHR partnership.
