Events & Fundraising
All members of the Consortium are deeply aware that the money invested in our research comes from charity donations.
Over the years many of us have taken part in a wide range of events to help raise money for the CF Trust. Here are just a few examples.
June 29, 2013: CF Unite Event. CF Genes & Gene Therapy.
The next CF Unite live event will take place on June 29, 2013. This will feature Dr Uta Griesenbach and Dr Ian Pringle. Uta will present an update on our ongoing research and clinical programmes and Ian will give an introduction to Cystic Fibrosis Genetics. Read more here.
May 2012: Consortium Scientist to Run Edinburgh Marathon & Isle of Skye Half Marathon.
Dr Ian Pringle will be running the Edinburgh Marathon (27 May) and the Isle of Skye Marathon on 09 June to raise money for the Adult CF Clinic at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
Ian explains, "10 years ago I ran the London Marathon very badly and so its always been a nagging thing to do again. Three years ago I had knee surgery so it has taken me longer than I wanted to get back into any kind of running shape. I wanted to run in Edinburgh because its one of the Consortium's hubs and it is supposedly the flatest marathon route in the UK. The Isle of Skye Half-Marathon will also be a challenge because its quite a hilly route but I grew up running around on hills on Skye so am really looking forward to it!"
