Consortium Research
We have a very active but focussed research programme.

Introduction
Our research programme is tightly focussed on the development of improved gene therapies for Cystic Fibrosis lung disease.
Taking basic research ideas from the lab bench to the clinic is beyond the reach of most academic groups. The Consortium are different as we have aligned our different groups to focus on their key talents to ensure that we continue to progress.
Wave I Research: Our Current Clinical Trial Programme
Since our formation in 2001, most of our research has been focussed on delivering our first set of clinical trials which are currently underway. In this section of the website and on the Clinical Programme pages you can learn more about our work and how we have progressed.

Wave II - A Viral Gene Therapy for CF Lung Disease
We retain a strong focus on improving our Wave I programme; however, much of our current research is aimed at developing a 'Wave II' viral vector for CF Lung Disease. Further information on our Wave II work can be found in theMedical Futures Innovation Award 2011 pages of the website.
