Aspirating_media_6wellplate.jpgThe UKCFGTC are not the only organisation researching the use of gene therapy for Cystic Fibrosis. We have close contacts and interactions with a number of other groups who are making advances in the field.

The Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Group, Robinson Institute, University of Adelaide.

Headed by Dr David Parsons and Dr Don Anson this group is developing lentiviral based CFTR vectors for the treatment of CF.

The Paul McCray Lab, University of Iowa.

The McCray laboratory carry out basic research into CF pathogenesis and also gene therapy for CF. In the last few years they have been heavily involved in the creation of transgenic pigs and ferrets as possible disease models.
